The “Association for the Support of the Cistercian Monastery Hohenfurth” was founded in 2002 in order to contribute to the preservation of the Cistercian Monastery Vyšší Brod as a cultural monument and to support the development of the monastery as a center of culture, in recognition of its importance for cooperation across borders. The Association was founded on the initiative of prominent enterprises and private persons from Upper Austria and in the meantime it has attracted members from other Austrian provinces as well as in Germany, the Czech Republic, Canada and Brazil. The Association has already invested considerable financial support from public and private sources in the renovation of the monastery.
